Captivated

Throughout the years I have been to many concerts, but only a handful have left a lasting impression. Enthralling musical experiences leave an irremovable mark on your heart and soul. Effectively stirring my heart and mind, some of my favorite live performances has come from the likes of Walk the Moon, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Thirty Seconds to Mars, New Politics, 21 Pilots, and Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights. The reasoning behind my selections is due to their ability to interact with the fans, their energy and the emotional delivery of their musical presence. Aside from the performer, the venue is a huge factor in a fan’s experience. I find that the smaller, more intimate venues are the perfect foundation for a more connected fan to artist experience, with minimal obstruction between you and the musician(s). Most venues of the smaller variety also facilitate the opportunity for fan/artist interaction. My favorite venue to date is the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale, where I have had the fortune to personally meet and connect with some of my now favorite artists. I love hearing about must-see artists, what are some of your note worthy live performances?

Jared Leto of Thirty Seconds to Mars (above and below)
They have a great connection with their fans. I have seen them several times, they always invite the audience to come on stage
(shown below).

New Politics: One of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen, the lead singer literally break dances (including head stands) while performing the set list.

  1. Concert talk. My favorite show I went to was Deftones. Chino has the greatest stage energy and presence. His connection with the audience is amazing between songs or a certain amount of songs he will make a joke or two to keep the energy upbeat and continue rocking out. One of my favorite live shows for sure along with killswitch engage. The guitarist has antics he pulls during the songs and he is just a fun person to watch which helps keep it an entertaining experience. I enjoy this post since I can put some input in and talk about going to concerts. Something about seeing a band play some of your favorite songs and able to stand there and watch them interact with the crowd is a very rewarding experience. With some of the artists actually being really cool and down to earth and you can see how thankful they are for the fans going out there by signing and taking pictures. To me that is the greatest thing any artist or band can do. It shows how much they appreciate the fans. I can go on and on so I will end this here.
